Paths of Integration in the educational contexts

Participating organisations: Municipalities of Parma, Reggio Emilia, Ravenna, Scandiano and Fontanellato and Municipalities of Stockholm, Skovde, Falkoping and Trollhattan.

Length of the project: 2 years (2006-2007)

Objectives: Exchange of best practices and support direct contacts in the field of integration of immigrants with a special focus on educational contexts.

Activities: 2 seminars with working groups, visits to education institutions and presentation of best practices and a final meeting.

Results: - Mutual knowledge of local didactical and organisation experiences and transferability of the local experiences in a context different from that of origin;
- Agreement to discuss further issues such as training for teachers in the field of not verbal languages as mean to improve integration of foreign students;
- School partnership projects;
- Learning partnership project for adult: intercultural and integration at school and project addressed to parents and to schools.

Follow-up

Comenius Partneship on integration and parenthood

 

Participating organisations: Stockholm City (Rinkeby Kista district) and Parma Municipality

Length of the project: 2 years (2007-2008)

Objectives: This project can be seen as a issue deepening of the “Paths of integration in educational contexts” project.
Development of new pedagogical approaches and strategies aiming at acquiring competences and at developing relational dimension.

Activities: Documentation and knowledge where intercultural contents are provided thanks to ideas and practical intervention of parents.
Focus on planning and implementation of didactic places and tools realised thanks to the parents’ help.

Results:
- Improved involvement of parents in the pre-school activity;
- Exchange of new pedagogical approaches.
