Length of the project: 2008-2010
Objectives: To enhance pre-school staff’s skills through
the exchange.
-To deepen the knowledge on the organisation settings in which preschools
operate (indoor/outdoor activities, process of interaction, relation school-families)
-To analyse the concept of “competent child”
-To examine how the pre-school-family relation is managed.
Activities: The project includes exchange and dissmeination
activities.
(a) Two exchange sessions with a length of two weeks, one in Spring and
one in Fall of each year during which Italian pre-school teachers move to
Sweden to spend two weeks of job-shadowing activity in a partner school
and vice versa.
(b) Each year an evaluation/dissemination seminar is organised in order to evaluate the annual exchanges and the content of the best practices emerged.
(c) A coordination group has been created in order to establish guidelines for the exchanges, to evaluate the results of the exchanges and to implement regular activities.
Results:
- Exchange of good practices on 4 main themes:
a- the relation children-families-teacher
b- indoor-outdoor activities
c- didactic activities
d- the daily routine
e- documentation activities
- Development of contacs among the municipalities and pre-schools involved
The total particpants in the exchanges in 2008 and 2009 have been 38. In
the first dissemination seminar that took place participated more 70 representatives
from all the participating municipalities.
THE PRE-SCHOOL STAFF EXCHANGE - EXAMPLE OF GOOD PRACTICES 2009
The national agency in Italy has chosen the Pre-school staff exchange project as example of good practices for 2009 in the job shadowing activities, implemented with the support of the LLP agency. The selected best practices in the exchange is Letizia Acquino, who made her job shadowing at Strömmen pre-school in Motala.
