Length of the project: 18 months (2008-2009)
Objectives: - To understand the reciprocal influence of
the protection and promotion of the local intangible heritage and of concept
of sustainable tourism (interaction of natural environment, local economy
and respect of traditions);
- To create opportunity for exchanging best practices thanks to the involvement
of private companies in the production and tourism fields.
Activities: Two events of three days each.
1st event: Traversetolo, September 2008
Held activities:
-Plenary session on the concept of sustainable tourism for the local heritage;
-Study visit on community tourism: how local communities can protect and
promote their traditions and culture;
-Working groups activities.
2nd event: Stromstad, March 2009
- Plenary session focused on the relation between citizens and tourism planning;
- Working group activities;
- Role of different government levels in the tourism matter.
Results:
- developed and deepened the concept of sustainable development thanks to
the comparison of tasks and competences in the three involved European countries;
- improved the exchange of good practices with a deeper citizens’ involvement.
