Towards a Common Approach to Fight Violence Against Women

: representatives of the municipalities of Falkoping, Norrkoping, Pitea, Stockholm, Trollhattan, Vanersborg, Forlì, Imola, Ravenna, Reggio Emilia and Rimini.

Length of the project: 6 months (2005)

Objectives: - to deepen knowledge on different approaches to fight violence against women
- to compare different strategies to fight gender violence
- exchange of good practices


Activities: 3 days seminar held in December 2005 in Forlì with a plenary session and working groups focused on prevention of gender violence by working with children and youth and relation between man and women on sexual identity. The project involved 70 social workers and decision-makers from the participating institutions.


Results:
- Exchange of good practices at policy level
- Testing of innovative good practices at organisational level
- Development of a joint project application entitled “you. SAVE- Youth’s Struggle Against Exertion of Violence presented under the Daphne Programme in February 2006.
