Local and Regional Polices towards Disabled Citizens
Partners:
Norrbotten County Council, Parma Province, District of Cluj (Romania) Troms
region (Norway).
Length of the project: 6 months (2008)
Objectives:
- to create the conditions for the development of a long-term cooperation
among different actors involved in the policies aimed at improving the living
conditions of the disabled citizens
- to create policies and actions to support disabled citizens’ inclusion
in the society
- to deepen the knowledge on “care-givers”
Activities: a 4 days event held in Lulea (Norrbotten County
Council)
After a plenary session on different legislations and on organisation structures,
3 working groups discussed on:
- assistance to families with a disabled member
- attitude of citizens and institutions towards disability
- ICT solutions for disabled people
Results: Exchange of knowledge on numerous aspects of policy
towards disabled people (relation with care givers, relation family-disabled
person-doctor, chances of integration through ICT)
