Quality of the Elderly Care Services

Partners: Municipality of Scandiano, Union Terre Verdiane, Municipality of Trollhattan, Municipality of Almansa (Spain) and Municipality of Blansko (Czech Republic)

Length of the project: 18 months (2008-2009)

Objectives: The main objective is to create a network of collaboration focused on the comparison of various experiences in the management of quality in public services in the field of elderly care services.
- to analyse the relation between the liable and the quality level of services
- to analyse the different approach to quality in services in the different countries
- benchmarking actions
- development of common indicators
- development of a joint charter of services

Activities: 2 events of three days each.

1st Event, Scandiano, June 2008
The aim of this first meeting was to create the basis of some benchmarking activities and the develop of new quality indicators.
Definition of 2working group:

1. Customer orientation tools in elderly care services
2. Measurement tools in elderly care services

2nd Event, Almansa, February 2009
The first objective was the analysis of the benchmarking activities carried on after the Scandiano meeting and to evaluate the tests’ results held in that period.
Particular attention was paid to the discussion in the working group and to deepening of the benchmarking process in order to develop a European “quality standard”.

3rd Event, Trollhattan, 14-16October 2009


Results: - Ability to recognise the best practices and to implement new solutions and to learn from other experiences (bench-learning)
- Representation of a common approach among countries to manage quality in the elderly care services
- Definition of specific tools and testing activities.
- Development of a joint process for the definition of the focus groups, customer orientation tools
