In Vänersborg there are several pre-schools inspired by the so called Reggio Emilia Approach.
This educational philosophy focuses on the image of a child with strong potentialities for development and a subject with rights, who learns through the hundred languages and grows in relation with others.
The environment as educator, the documentation for making creative knowledge processes visible and the participation of families are some of the key aspects on which this approach is based.
REAP project wants to give the opportunity to staff in the preschools to acquire and deepen the major aspects of Reggio Emilia pedagogy.
Through the participation in the project activities will headmasters, teachers, childcare workers and educators create a common working background which will inspire even other preschools, at local, regional and national level.
The general objective of REAP project is that to provide our children with the highest level of teaching and education.
The project aims even to:
- promoting equality, social cohesion and active citizenship
- to increase creativity and innovation at all levels of education
- promote international cooperation
- improve the level of education by striving to reduce the number of students who abandon the school too early.
24 participants among headmasters, teachers, childcare workers and educators from the three Swedish preschools will take part in jobshadowing activites in different italian preschools located near the city of Reggio Emilia, in particular in Scandiano and Val d´Enza preschools.
4 rounds of jobshadowing activities, 6 days long, will be performed between 2021 and 2022.
Before the end of the project, an internal work plan will be set up in order to further develop the project results at local level.
