The Municipality of Sissa Trecasali was established on 1 January 2014 following the merger of the Municipality of Sissa with the Municipality of Trecasali. The new municipality, with a current population of 7,900, is located in the heart of the Bassa Parmense area (the territory between the Via Emilia and the Po River), a region of significant historical, cultural, natural, and gastronomic interest.
Particularly noteworthy is the Rocca dei Terzi, which rises above the village of Sissa and was likely built in the 14th century by the Terzi family, then lords of the castle. Trecasali is a relatively new urban centre, founded by Napoleon Bonaparte in 1806. Today, the town is undergoing a significant transformation, evolving from an agricultural centre into an industrial hub. Its strategic location, further enhanced by the recent addition of the Ti-Bre motorway, has reinforced its importance within the Bassa Parmense area.
Our objective is to increase cooperation among the
members of the network, between Italy and Sweden
and, more in general, the North and South of
the European Union.
