How to join

who can apply?

The membership of the network is open to those organisations, primarily public ones, but also from the civil society that share the objectives of network.
The statute points out the organizations eligible to apply:

In Sweden: Regions, county councils, county administrative Boards, municipalities, associations of local and regional authorities.

 In Italy: The regional governments, the provinces, the municipalities, the local authorities in their associated forms in Emilia-Romagna, as well as the same institutions of all other Italian regions.

In Sweden and Italy: Subjects from the civil society who agree to the aims and purpose of the Network, including educational institutions at all levels.

PARTNERS: Following the increasing number of contacts with organisations from other countries in the European Union the General Assembly of the Network decided, as from the spring of 2009, to give the opportunity to those that want to establish more structured relations with the network and its members to become Partners of the Network. This allows regions, counties, provinces, municipalities, associations of local and regional authorities, as well as subjects from the civil society, from EU countries who agree to the aims and purpose of the Network (Statute of SERN), including educational institutions at all levels, to participate on a regular basis to all the activities of SERN and contribute to its development.

THE APPLICATION PROCESS

1. FILL IN THE APPLICATION FORM

Download and fill in the SERN application form (Application form for Local/Regional AuthoritiesApplication form for other organisations). The form has to be signed by the legal representative of the organization. Remember to download and read the statute as by signing the application form you will accept the contents and the rules set out in the statute.

2. SEND THE APPLICATION FORM

Send the form together with a letter of presentation addressed to the Chair of the Executive Board. An e-version of the application form and of the letter shall be also sent to the Secretariat to the attention of Chair of the Executive Board.

3. APPROVAL OF THE EXECUTIVE BOARD

The SERN executive Board normally meets three times a year, in February, May, and November. When in session the Board will discuss and decide about the membership application.

Between 1 and 2 Million inhabitants
Membership fees = € 8.568,80

Between 500.000 and 1 Million inhabitants
Membership fees = € 6.426,60

Up to 499.000 inhabitants
Membership fees = € 4.819,90

MUNICIPALITIES AND ASSOCIATIONS OF MUNICIPALITIES

Between 300.000 and 1 Million inhabitants
Membership fees = € 428,00 + € 9,54 per 1000 inhabitants

Between 150.000 and 299.999 inhabitants
Membership fees = € 428,00 + € 14,80 per 1000 inhabitants

Between 75.000 and 149.999 inhabitants
Membership fees = € 428,00 + € 15,90 per 1000 inhabitants

Up to 74.999 inhabitants
Membership fees = € 428,00 + € 21,21 per 1000 inhabitants

OTHERS

On the basis of the number of employees and financial capacity.

Educational institutions up to secondary schools non profit-organisations
Membership fees = € 275,20

Foundations and Universities
Membership fees = € 1.606,00

Business organisations, consortia, cooperatives, and  all other organisations:
Up to 4 employees
Membership fees = € 275,20
Between 5 and 24 employees and less than € 500.000 of annual turnover
Membership fees = € 643,00
Between 5 and 24 employees and more than € 500.000 of annual turnover
Membership fees =€ 1.070,60
More than 24 employees
Membership fees = € 1.606,00 * (+ at least sponsoring of a SERN event each year)

PARTNERS

Partnership fees are equal to 70% of the membership fees.
