learning mobility of individuals

Since 2021, SERN has held an Erasmus+ accreditation in Adult Education, valid for the entire 2021–2027 period. The accreditation supports a structured training strategy for professionals working in the welfare sector, coordinated through a consortium of local authorities and social service providers (ASP).

The main objective is to invest in the skills of those who design and deliver personal care services, social workers, coordinators, service managers, and public officials, through international mobility and peer learning.

The fourth year of the accreditation involves 44 professionals from ASP Parma, ASP Rossi Sidoli, ASP Carlo Sartori, Azienda Servizi Sociali Bolzano, Unione Terre d’Argine, and Consorzio Icaro. The focus this year has been on mental well-being, dementia, disability, and the upskilling and reskilling of professionals in the welfare sector.

The activities have been carried out with the support of long-standing and new host organisations, including the Municipalities of Linköping and Norrköping (Sweden), APCC Coimbra (Portugal), Paradox Ghent (Belgium), and the Municipality of Enschede (The Netherlands).

The programme includes a training course on mental well-being for young people held in Linköping (November 2024), a course on dementia care in Ghent (June 2025), and a group mobility on elderly care in Enschede (June 2025). In addition, job shadowing activities focused on disability care in Coimbra (May 2025) and on skills development for welfare staff in Norrköping (August 2025).

This year represents a further step towards aligning staff training with long-term innovation goals in social services, while also expanding the geographic and thematic scope of the consortium.
