Social services and digitalisation
learning mobility of individuals
Since 2021, SERN has held an Erasmus+ accreditation in Adult Education, valid for the entire 2021–2027 period. The accreditation supports a structured training strategy for professionals working in the welfare sector, coordinated through a consortium of local authorities and social service providers (ASP).
The main objective is to invest in the skills of those who design and deliver personal care services, social workers, coordinators, service managers, and public officials, through international mobility and peer learning.

The third year saw the active participation of 41 professionals from ASP Parma, Consorzio Icaro, and the Municipalities of Imola, Pellegrino Parmense, Bertinoro, and Scandiano (Unione Tresinaro Secchia). The training programme covered a wide range of topics, from welfare technology to dementia and disability care.
Mobility experiences were carried out in Sweden, Portugal, Belgium, and Germany, in cooperation with Linköping and Boden Municipalities, APCC in Coimbra, Paradox in Ghent, and Enzkreis. Participants engaged in both theoretical and practical learning, observing local services and exchanging ideas with host organisations.
The programme included a training course on welfare technology in Linköping (April 2023), a training on dementia care in Ghent (May 2024), and a course on disability care in Coimbra (May 2024). A group mobility on elderly care took place in Enzkreis in June 2024, and job shadowing activities were carried out in Linköping (April 2023) and Boden (May 2024).
This year offered participants the chance to gain a broader perspective on how different systems address common challenges and to reflect critically on their own practices back home.
